If Mousehole is the 'loveliest village in England’ then the Old Watch House is the ‘loveliest house in the loveliest village.
It was a privilege to stay in such a well cared for period property, furnished to the highest standards. My wife and I spent two magnificent weeks here with our children and dogs. When we walked in it was like we were the first ever guests; everything was pristine, everything was perfect from the coffee machine to the surround sound to the excellent facilities provided both inside and out. We spent much of our time outside enjoying the extensive garden area and easy access to the sea and the centre of Mousehole. We watched both sunrise and sunset from the terrace. This was such a treat and one that we will return to again and again. Highly recommended.
The house is beautifully decorated, homely and situated in the most perfect location.
Just a short walk to the pubs, restaurants and shops. The private access to the beach is an added bonus. If you like to watch the sunrise with a coffee or the sunset with a G&T you’ll love the comfy sofas on the sun terrace. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning very soon.
This is a wonderful, happy place, where we had a bit of a dream vacation.
The Husband and I live in London; as a writer I like staying in luxurious places…helps me to generate inspiration for my work. I found much relaxation time here. Shore walks, watching the seals on the rocks, exploring the local area – lots of distractions. Having said that, doing nothing at all was the nicest activity of them all! To me, The Old Watch House has a homely, relaxed feel and provided everything I needed during my stay. I thought the library and board games a nice touch. Good WiFi, kitchen facilities and garden space. There was a well stocked hat shelf we made use of!
Thank you so much for such a lovely stay in a perfect location.
The house is amazing and we all had relaxing and lovely stay here. We managed to visit St Ives and Penzance in our short stay, the beaches in St Ives were amazing! We ate at the Rock Pool Café and No.2 Fore Street and The Coastguard, all of which are highly recommended. We hope to come back soon!
Our Second Stay
A very enjoyable week in this wonderful property. Stunning views, bracing weather and very cosy while sitting by the open fire.
Our Second stay at The Old Watch House we've loved it!
The house is amazing. Location, gardens - everything was brill
Would recommend The Old Coastguard (next door) and No2 Fore Street - both a few doors along in Mousehole. Sky Mackeral Fish Bar in Newlyn also excellent too.
The seals can be seen at all times of day, just be patient and keep an eye to St Clements Isle. Just an amazing weeks stay. Thank You
Excellent Property
Excellent property, nothing spared, thoroughly enjoyed our stay. A truly relaxing house and gardens.
A repeat of last years trip
A repeat of last years trip. Thankfully nothing has changed! Idyllic place to while away some down time. Thank You
Views are amazing, saw seals in the bay and cormorants diving!
Had a great week in this beautiful house, lucky with the weather and nice long walks on the beaches.
We'll be back!
We've really enjoyed another fabulous time at the old watch house with family and the pooch. The house and garden are gorgeous. We'll be back!
